Associate Financial Planner

£35000 - £40000 plus benefits

We are delighted to represent this firm of Chartered Financial Planners who have an excellent reputation of investing and developing in its team.  When not delivering first class advice to its personal and corporate clients, the company is busy giving back to its local community. They are proud to be supporting a number of charitable trusts and foundations.They are now looking for an associate Financial Planner/Trainee Adviser to provide support to a Senior Financial Planner in delivering high quality advice and service to clients in line with the client objectives whilst utilising best practice in all areas of the advice process. This role will be working from home and visiting clients with the Senior Financial Planner, located mainly around Kent and Essex.

 The Role

  • Work closely with one of our Senior Financial Planners in providing Financial Planning support and advice to clients.
  • Attend client meetings with Senior Financial Planner, ensuing that you are both adequately prepared in advance, provide support with cashflow forecasting and ensure that accurate notes are taken.
  • Ensure that all client meetings are accurately documented inline with the Company Financial Planning process.
  • Ensure that both hard & soft fact-finding is completed to high company standards and that sufficient client information is obtained and then analysed to best effect.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the Paraplanning team for client reports to be completed. 
  • Ensure that all communications with clients are documented and recorded on the client file on the back-office system and that it is compliant within the company and Regulatory standards.
  • Undertake training and learning opportunities to develop Financial Planning skills, behaviours and experience with all Clients. 
  • Provide regular, ongoing service to clients in accordance with Company Policy and as agreed with Clients.
  • Conduct client meetings under the supervision of T&C Supervisor or Senior Financial Planner, taking on-board feedback to develop within the Financial Planning Meeting Behaviours framework. 
  • Liaise with the Paraplanning team regularly to ensure reports are completed for clients and that are free from jargon.
  • To work with your Paraplanning support to undertake sufficient product and market research to ensure suitable recommendations are made.
  • Maintenance of a professional appearance and approach when representing the company.
  • Where applicable Provide research and analysis of investment funds and financial products, whilst considering the client objectives.
  • Conduct research solutions from our Centralised Investment Proposition and other investment solutions where the CIP is not appropriate
  • Review asset allocation for any investment/pension holdings.
  • Complete financial cashflow forecasts, clearly demonstrating the clients current and future financial position.
  • Prepare Financial Plans, clearly outlining the client’s current position, where they need to be and how they will get there.
  • Review client objectives ensuring they are clear, concise and achievable when compared against the client’s financial circumstance.
  • Liaise with Product Providers / Third Parties regarding any technical queries

About You

  • Previous experience of working as a Paraplanner 
  • Practical application of technical financial knowledge within career
  • Demonstrable high level of competence with regard to providing Financial Advice to clients across a suite of Financial Services products, including but not limited to Protection, Investments, Savings, Pensions and Estate Planning
  • Extensive experience of working with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Teams or similar tools
  • Professional with a proven strong client focus approach to getting the best outcome for the client and the business
  • CII Regulated Diploma, DipIP, DipFA or equivalent
  • Good understanding of the Financial Planning process
  • Commercial approach to all aspects of business
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal communication 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail to balance demands of role
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback within the advisory team. i.e.,Paraplanner and WCE
  • Experience of working with Discretionary Fund Managers (Desirable)
  • Experience of Cash Flow modelling – using Cash Flow Modelling within client meetings to illustrate ‘what if’ scenarios.(Desirable)
  • Previous experience of building long term ‘financial plans’(Desirable)
  • CAS status achieved (Desirable)
  • CF30(Desirable)
  • Current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS)(Desirable)
  • Further professional qualifications (or working towards) i.e., Pension qualifications including G60, AF3 (AF7)(Desirable)
  • Experience of Cash Flow Modelling – the production and delivery of cash flow models for clients in support of the individual/family’s holistic financial planning (Desirable)
