Our client, an investment and tax specialist advice firm, are looking for a senior paraplanner to join their London team. In the main, the firm manages client assets and portfolios with an emphasis on the benefits of being a long-term investor within tax-efficient wrappers; It is the firm’s goal to manage their client’s portfolios effectively and efficiently to ensure that they achieve their clients’ current financial goals and needs while enabling the clients to possess significant funds to enjoy a happy retirement.

Due to recent expansion, the business is now seeking a highly knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced paraplanner to collaborate with their established team of wealth managers and financial planners.  The successful individual will be tasked with preparing recommendations and producing suitability reports in line with company policy, holding regular contact with the firm’s advisers and head office as-well as promoting the company's services to the highest standards of compliance with current FCA regulations; The successful individual will also be required to assist the investment management team with their research and execution of suitable investments for clients. The firm are eager for the successful candidate to share best practice solutions with them, and be proactive in suggesting enhancements to the client offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will prepare, complete, and deliver reports and annual reviews to a high professional standard; This will include collating and providing the relevant information to all key individuals.
  • You will receive and implement requests from the branch wealth managers / financial planners; You will work closely with the advisers to communicate clearly with the administration team.
  • You must gather and record client data as well as develop and maintain all processes relevant to technical support while undertaking product-based research.
  • Where appropriate, you will attend client meetings and communicate with clients (both face to face and remote) as-well as with third parties / key stakeholders.
  • You must provide reports on important measures on a regular basis.
  • You will undertake professional development and training where relevant.
  • You will operate within the compliance and corporate standards of the business, including compliance with the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations, company compliance policies and staff handbook.
  • To the best of your ability, you will ensure that all compliance standards are met and that all paraplanning report templates are regularly updated in line with legislative and/or product changes.
  • You will also support any other duties that would be reasonably expected while supporting a wealth management firm.

About You

  • You will have a minimum of five year’s paraplanning experience.
  • You will hold the level 4 diploma in financial services (CII, LIBF, or CISI); Level 6 / Chartered Status is preferred but not essential.
  • You will be fully competent in all major desktop applications. For example, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and financial planning software such as Voyant.
  • You will possess excellent attention to detail as-well as be technically minded.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written skills; You will also possess the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and articulately.
  • You will have a strong work ethic and ability to work independently as-well as part of a team.
  • You will be proactive with providing suggestions for improving the firms current financial planning and investment proposition.
