Role: Financial Planner / Independent Financial Adviser

Location: Chatham

Package: Up to £65,000 Basic Salary + Bonus and Benefits + Clients Provided

Our client, a successful and well-respected financial planning firm, are looking for a level 4 qualified financial adviser to join the team. The firm are looking for a top quality individual to help maintain and build a strong client bank so that the firm can continue to grow and flourish; To support this, the firm will provide the successful candidate with existing and new client leads. Ideally, the firm are keen to find a pro-active, forward-thinking, and motivated individual who is always looking to expand their business potential; Moreover, the firm are eager to find an individual who possesses honesty, integrity, and an excellent work ethic.

As the successful individual, you will be responsible for providing accurate, professional, and sound financial advice to both new and existing clients; Furthermore, you will be expected to closely work alongside the management and back office teams to ensure that you can achieve both yours and the firm’s business targets while maintaining an honest and true client-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will make your clients feel confident and excited to join a flexible, client-centric organisation who has their long-term needs and requirements at the centre of everything that they do.
  • You will act as the client's principal financial planner and adviser, providing support, guidance, and education on all financial matters; You will provide the necessary advice, guidance, and re-assurance to them in achieving their long-term financial goals.
  • You will work with other professionals to ensure that the client's plans are implemented efficiently and effectively.
  • You will build your own portfolio through a variety of business development techniques.
  • As an approved person, you must accept responsibility and demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory aspects and framework of the FCA controlled functions that you perform.
  • You will ensure that you meet and abide by the rules of the FCA’s fit and proper test while always complying with the FCA’s Statements of Principle and Code of Practise.
  • You will strictly maintain your compliance with all internal policies, procedures and standards as set out by senior management and the employee handbook.
  • You will work closely with senior management to achieve all key personal and business performance indicators.
  • You will maintain a strong knowledge of the industry, its regulations, and any changes so that you can consistently provide insightful and relevant advice.
  • You will work closely with the back office team (paraplanning and administration) to ensure that all recommendations, client records and MI is maintained and kept up-to-date.

Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • You will have a minimum of three to five years’ experience working as a financial adviser or mortgage and protection adviser.
  • You will hold the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent). Level 6 / Chartered Status is desired but not essential.
  • You must possess excellent technical knowledge of all associated financial planning products and schemes.
  • You must have proven experience of building strong client relationships over the phone, via videocall and in person.
  • You must be IT literate and willing to embrace technology; Experience using Intelligent Office (IO) is desired but not essential.
