Paraplanning Manager, Manchester (TB-1679)

£40000 - £45000 plus excellent benefits

Job Purpose

  • To develop and train paraplanners with ongoing development needs, and to deliver paraplanner Induction content training
  • To assist in the design, implementation, delivery and recording of individual and group training activity in support of the company objectives
  • To work with paraplanners with established track records, providing development, coaching and training support to enable them to achieve their highest potential, in terms of sales skills, supervision skills and technical knowledge.
  • To support new entrants to the company in achieving competency and minimising the time taken for new entrants to understand and be able to follow company process and standards and be productive in their roles.
  • Assist in monitoring adherence to company policies and processes and assessing the knowledge and skills of the paraplanner workforce and identifying risks and training needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Senior Colleagues and analyse available MI - to identify individual and group training needs at a local and national level
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programmes to address national training needs
  • Assist in the design and implementation of national training programmes and support materials and participate in the delivery of such training
  • Provide tailored coaching to Paraplanners and Report Writers to assist them in achieving personal and company goals
  • Co-ordinate and lead the delivery of company induction programmes for Paraplanners and Report Writers to provide a positive introduction to the company for new entrants and effective training, such that attendees can be signed off induction ready to attend their office.
  • Co-ordinate and lead the delivery of knowledge and skills training for Paraplanners and Report Writers until they are deemed to be competent, to maximise their contribution to the business and increase productivity.
  • Assist the Regional Paraplanner Managers in the review Suitability Reports and research documents to identify training needs to deliver the highest standards of compliance and client experience.
  • Assist Development Managers in the delivery of training, with a view to demonstrating the relationship between company initiatives and the practical application to Suitability Reports. This will include supporting the Technical Development Manager in the delivery of technical training.
  • Maintaining robust development plans and training records.
  • Support Paraplanners and Report Writers in the completion and recording of CPD and company-mandated proficiency testing, to ensure they achieve and maintain standards of best practice.
  • Attend local team / department meetings to ensure understanding of team objectives, priorities and issues. Participate in the planning and delivery of training elements.

About You

  • Experience in the construction of financial planning advice, either in an advisory, paraplanning or research capacity
  • Experience in the construction of client facing Suitability Reports
  • Certificate in Paraplanning or Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • Excellent coaching and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate required level of technical knowledge and application of qualifications in the IFA environment
  • Detailed understanding of retail finance including protection products, investments, pension products and tax planning solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and ability to deliver results
