Role: Paraplanner 
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits 
Our client, a boutique and long-standing business, are looking for a paraplanner to join their team. The opportunity is well suited for an individual who is looking to work within a smaller but successful business where team support is high and adopting a client centred approach is vital. Ideally, the successful individual will be passionate about financial planning as-well as being eager to constantly develop their own professional development. 
The Role 
  • You will provide a high level of technical and research support to the firms’ financial planners. 
  • You will prepare detailed reports for clients.  
  • You will consistently assist the Paraplanner Manager and Compliance Department. 
  • You will closely liaise with clients as and when required 
  • To prepare full and detailed suitability reports. 
  • Prepare a full summary of client recommendations for administrators to prepare the client pack.
  • Liaise with administrators and financial planners on any required amendments. 
  • Ensure that all recommendations comply with company standards. 
  • Liaise with the financial planners to agree the best course of action. 
  • Research the most suitable product and tax wrapper for each individual client case.
  • Take into consideration wider circumstances; tax position, income etc. 
  • Carry out calculations such as carry forward, CGT, IHT and bond calculations.  
  • Prepare research on existing investment and pension funds using appropriate research tools.
  • Compare with appropriate funds/portfolio for the client’s attitude to risk.
  • Prepare replacement contracts report for the financial planner to review prior to suitability. 
  • Question the financial planner’s recommendations if applicable.
  • Discuss any cases that are not clear with the Paraplanner Manager or Compliance Head.
  • Provide feedback on all processes where required. 
  • Suggest improvements to any processes. 
  • Work with the paraplanning team to improve efficiencies and effectiveness. 
  • Assist with the Investment Committee as-well as partake in monthly team meetings.
  • Participate in required ad hoc meetings when requested to do so. 
About You
  • You should be diploma qualified or have begun working towards this.
  • You will have experience of providing technical support within an IFA firm.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of using Intelligent Office and are competent at using research tools. 
  • You will have the ability to build relationships with consultants/professional introducers and ensure that these relationships are maintained.
