Finance Administrator, Nottingham (SR-1133)

£22000 - £26000 + benefits

Our client is a well-established IFA who have offered impartial and trustworthy financial advice to a mixture of clients from across the East Midlands region for over 20 years. Based in Nottingham, their highly-qualified team pride themselves in providing reliable financial advice on areas such as Retirement Planning, Business Protection, Inheritance Tax Planning, and individual and group Pension schemes.

The role is a dual role with the successful individual completing 3 days of Finance and 2 days completing administrative tasks. You will be the liaison for all accounting, financial, billing and income reconciliation enquires as well as providing support to the Practice Manager.


Finance (3 days a week)

  • Provide financial and management information to the Directors including budget forecasting and projections. 
  • Responsible for day to day banking and invoicing 
  • Complete month end reconciliation via Xplan
  • Complete annual returns such as RMAR
  • Dealing with 3rd party insurance companies
  • Prepare payroll, plus calculate and record payaways and bonuses
  • Maintain and update Sage with reference to Profit and Loss

Administrative (2 days a week)

  • To assist the Practice Manager with the collation of management information via Xplan and key performance indicators 
  • To assist the Support team two days per week with general administration and valuations as agreed with the Practice Manager 
  • Control & ordering of stationery

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Have at least 2 years’ relevant experience within Accountancy, Book Keeping or Banking Reconciliations, preferably within Financial Services
  • Knowledge of Xplan and Company Software would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Sage
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritise your workload
  • Organised and capable of multi-tasking and being able to work on your own initiative
  • Numerate – have good analytical skills
  • Excellent standard of written & verbal communication
  • Ability to empathise and build strong business relationships with our client’s, team and strategic partners
  • Attention to detail
  • Proactive, with an ability to search out solutions
  • Ability to interpret data and prepare financial reports
