Investment Portfolio Support Manager, High Wycombe (JR-744)

£25000 - £30000 + benefits + bonuses

Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking firm who offer a comprehensive approach to Wealth Management.

Due to their strong relationship with Accountants and Solicitors, the firm’s business requirements are rapidly growing. As a result, they are looking to develop their investment management team. The successful candidate will work alongside the firm’s head of investments to ensure that all client research and investment needs are appropriately dealt with.

Within the role, you will assist clients with the following investment options; Shares, Gilt-edged Securities, Friendly Society Products, Unit Trusts, Individual Savings Accounts, Investment Trusts, Open Ended Investment Companies, Investment Bonds, Venture Capital Trusts and Enterprise Investment Schemes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of Investment Panels
  • Investment commentary (once a month)
  • Update of investment fund paragraphs
  • Chair ICM meeting (once a quarter)
  • Overseeing fund switches / trades and creation of process for peer to peer checking of same, and then overseeing peer to peer
  • Help with file checks on investment portfolios
  • Asset allocation
  • Practice Meeting updates
  • Investment training to PPs and advisers
  • Help with portfolio construction outside of APS
  • Specific projects (i.e. EIS & VCT advice process design)
  • Ownership of investment processes
  • Attending Directors meetings (once a month)
  • Helping PPs and advisers with investment reviews
  • The design and ownership of the risk profiling process
  • Communication of changes to all
  • Assistance with client meetings to obtain new business
  • Advance preparation and management of APS client reviews (notification to advisers 4-6 weeks ahead)
  • Management of client portfolios and communication of recommended changes to advisers/clients/paraplanners
  • Completion of application paperwork and investment top-ups, including input and/or completion of SLs and business submission
  • Purchases/sales of funds/units for APS clients along with suitable trade checking process from a peer
  • Establishment of wrappers where appropriate
  • Assistance with and organisation investment seminars to clients/professional connections
  • Attendance at Paraplanner meetings
  • Implementation of relevant investment legislation for e.g. MiFID II compliance, GDPR etc


  • Experience of investment management back office support and portfolio management
  • Hold or working towards the diploma in financial planning
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and drive
  • Highly motivated team player who can work under pressure and deadlines
