Senior Consultant, Bristol (JR-1825)

£35000 - £40000 plus benefits
 
Our client is a successful consultancy who provide ecological and environmental support to a range of large companies and landowners in the UK and overseas.
 
As they continue to develop its client base and win new and exciting projects, the firm is now looking to appoint a Biodiversity/Ecological Consultant.
 
You will be part of a highly motivated and professional team and collaborate closely with colleagues and clients alike. You'll enjoy a diverse range of project work across multiple sectors and contribute beyond their core expertise to play an active part in the companies' evolution.
 
Reporting to the Principal, your key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Bat species and development with relevant licence(s) and bat mitigation design
  • Biodiversity Net Gain with botanical and vegetation survey expertise, and biodiversity design experience
  • Leading teams, project work and fieldwork
  • Organising resources and mentoring colleagues
  • Delivering and improving quality client service, with high standards of work within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Deliver clear, confident advice directly to clients on their plans and projects
  • Assessment and reporting, HRA and EcIA, key policies, legislation and standards
  • Identify new opportunities to attract new clients, preparing service agreements and quotes
  • Act as a role model to colleagues and in the implementation of Quality Assurance, Health Wellbeing Safety and Environmental policy and procedures
  • Maintaining direct oversight of key clients
 
Person Profile - About You
 
  • Previous relevant industry experience and practical experience
  • Full member of CIEEM or equivalent professional membership
  • Have the ability to successfully manage projects end to end, demonstrable project management and leadership skills whilst working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to deliver high quality services
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of delivering protected species licences for development
  • Team working and leadership qualities to delegate effectively, manage time and deliverables, with commercial awareness
  • Experience of business development, winning your own work and encouraging the whole team to get involved
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multitask
  • Eligibility to work in UK. Driving Licence and suitable transport for occasional client visits
