Investment Analyst (JR- 1282)

£36000 - £45000 plus excellent benefits!

Our client is a directly authorised Wealth Management firm with almost 40 years of trading behind them. The company encourage continued career progression through additional industry qualifications.

As an Investment Analyst you will be working within a team of 5, reporting to the Head of Fund and Asset Management. You will be part of a small, expert team that analyse and monitor assets that are held within the company’s funds, including equity analysis and the analysis of investment opportunities.

  • Discretionary Company bonus paid annually based on gross profit.  Whilst it is not guaranteed, on-target figures should result in a bonus of 6% to 8% of your basic salary.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Analysis and monitoring of Equities and Bonds held within the company’s various funds
  • Assessment of data from Bloomberg and company analysis using a wide range of investigative techniques
  • Production of research note and reports documenting findings
  • Internal presentation of research findings
  • Assist with updating of Procedures Manual and ensure that it remains up to date
  • Make recommendations as to how the Investment Team’s systems and procedures might be improved

Client Service and Compliance:

  • Ensure the firm’s high standards of client care are met
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all work undertaken for clients, and work within the principles of the Data Protection Act
  • Comply with the FCA’s Treating Customers Fairly requirements, and other requirements set out in the company manual and processes
  • Co-operate fully with the firms Anti Money Laundering requirements
  • Maintain records in accordance with the firm’s compliance requirements as set out in its compliance manuals and procedures
  • Work within the requirements of the Data Protection Policy
  • Any other duties, which may reasonably be expected, and which fall within the incumbent’s capabilities or general area of responsibility
  • To be aware of and comply with all Health and Safety Requirements affecting the work and the role and report any problems immediately

 Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Accountant (minimum part qualified)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excellent/Advance knowledge of Excel)
  • Strong understanding of audited company accounts
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg desirable
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team 
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of business processes, standards, policies and procedures

Training:

  • Take part in any relevant in-house or external training as required
  • Attend relevant seminars/training and/or pursue relevant reading/studying as appropriate to the needs established in the Personal Development Plan
  • Retain a record of personal CPD in order to meet requirements of any relevant professional bodies
