We have a great opportunity to join one of the country’s most well recognised Financial Planning brands. Based out of its London office, you will join a dynamic firm that will support you with further qualifications and career development.

About the role:

This role is suitable for an experienced Paraplanner looking to make a move into a senior role that gives you the opportunity to progress your career. This is a dual role whereby as well as paraplanning, you will manage and oversee a team of 6 paraplanners that currently support the firm’s Financial Planners.

You will be required to demonstrate leadership and management capabilities and have experience in coaching and or mentoring in a previous role.

The teams overall focus is to deliver a first-class research and report writing service to the Financial Planners.

About You:

  • Level 4 qualified
  • Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within an advisory environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of both pre and post retirement scenarios (including pension transfers), investments, protection and taxation
  • Commitment to passing a basic, internal financial industry exam within 3 months of employment
  • Experience of team management and/or mentoring, coaching of people including performance management
  • Ability to challenge both your colleagues and the firm’s financial planners
  • Excellent relationship building skills

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading and training a client focused paraplanning team
  • Writing recommendation and strategy reports
  • Keeping the Financial Planners up to date with progress on all individual cases
  • Dealing with Financial Planners daily, delegating all new cases to your team
  • Dealing with compliance matters where appropriate
  • Managing projects which come into the team
  • Undertaking cash flow modelling
  • Work closely with senior management and contributing ideas and best practice, to develop the team strategy and implement change
  • Complete additional research tasks and project work where required
  • To participate in appropriate company and departmental training, competence and development initiatives
  • Remain up to date with regulatory changes and industry developments
