Paraplanner, Bath (CR-1147)

£27000 - £35000 Plus benefits and free parking

We are delighted to represent this well-established independent firm of Financial Planners as they seek to add a Paraplanner to the business.

You will be working in a small team to provide a paraplanning service to a dedicated consultant(s), and together with the team’s administrator(s), to collectively deliver a first class services to the firm’s clients.

The Role

  • To collate all the quantitative detailed information required to support any recommendations to be made
  • To ensure all relevant paperwork held within a client file is present, relevant & compliant
  • Ensure all appropriate ‘know your client’ information including risk profile has been obtained
  • and can be demonstrated with the relevant client file
  • Discuss client objectives with the consultant
  • Identify and discuss areas for planning with the Consultant(s)
  • Undertake relevant research to identify suitable solutions to meet a client’s specific objectives
  • Prepare research, quotes and other supporting documents for review
  • Prepare draft suitability reports for Consultant(s) and Compliance sign off (where applicable)
  • Review client investment portfolios, asset allocations, risk profile etc.
  • Prepare draft Annual Suitability assessment reports
  • Maintaining client files on Volume and Adviser Office to support any recommendations or Annual
  • Suitability assessment being made
  • Liaising with colleagues to co-ordinate completion of tasks
  • Assisting the Administrator(s) with administrative tasks as required
  • Cover for colleagues as required e.g. holiday, sickness, additional support during busy periods
  • Keep up to date with all relevant product, legislative and technical changes
  • Ensure the firm’s procedures in all respects are followed particularly to comply with the relevant
  • compliance, TCF, T&C and financial crime (anti-money laundering, data security, anti-bribery, fraud
  • and corruption) policies
  • Ensure all dealings with clients are carried out in a professional and courteous manner
  • Follow appropriate ethical standards within the firm
  • Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the relevant FCA rules


About you

  • Certificate in Paraplanning/Diploma in Financial Planning/Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent (or at least some progress towards a relevant level 4 qualification)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy on all tasks
  • Prioritises and manages own workloads to meet client and company expectations
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good standard of numeracy
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Sound working knowledge of pensions, investment and protection
  • Good understanding of the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Experience of Adviser Office, Exchange, Volume, Analytics and O&M an advantage
