Financial Adviser, Shanghai (BW-1311)

Looking for an exciting opportunity overseas? We are working with a leading, highly regarded FTSE 100 UK Wealth Management company which distributes a range of Investment and Retirement products and financial solutions to a High Net Worth client base.

A city of more than 26 million people, Shanghai has largely fronted China’s impact on worldwide economics, it has a formidable financial sector that includes the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The Role:

• Financial Advisers (qualified, trainee or from an unrelated industry background looking to retrain) to work for FTSE 100 listed Wealth Management Adviser in Shanghai office
• There is a base salary of c.£2,750 pm which will help towards establishing yourself in the location
• Earnings potential is uncapped but we would expect a successful candidate to be generating profits of c.£150K+ OTE after 18 months
• 2 months intensive training in London by an extremely successful, experienced team who will equip you with the skills and knowledge to be an immediate success
• Relocation package and support in Shanghai from existing business teams in the location
• Desk space, marketing and administrative support provided by the business development team in the existing office facility in Shanghai
• Initially looking for 2 candidates who would join on the same training programme so you would be part of a team of 2 travelling to Shanghai and working together
• Business development team will also provide support on the ground in Shanghai

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Daily governance teleconferences and ongoing training provided by the team in London
• You will build and run your own wealth management business in the Far East with the support and backing of a FTSE 100 listed Wealth Management company
• You would be advising private client expats in China – Huge market –c.1 million potential clients in Shanghai and the Chinese hinterland
• Marketing support and leads supplied for you from both London and Shanghai
• Ability to supplement this from self-generated leads and referrals is an absolute necessity

• Suits driven, entrepreneurial self-starters, who want to work for themselves rather than settle for the corporate life – this is not a career it is a vocational choice
• Also suits people who enjoy immersing themselves into different cultures and the challenge of building a life for themselves abroad
• There are currently 20 advisers in the Shanghai office and 50 in Hong Kong so you would be joining established teams in both jurisdictions
• You will need to pass the relevant exams in order to advise in Hong Kong but initially you will be based in Shanghai where no local qualifications are required
• A clean financial history with no criminal record is essential to pass the Chinese Visa requirements.
